"A rose by any other name " was a line in William Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet". The play was a romantic play as Juliet said the same line to Romeo in act ll scene 2.The full quote is "In a name a rose by any other name would be ask sweet as"

The meaning being what matters is what some thing is not what something is called, by that I think Shakespeare means is dont judge people on the outside, judge people on who they are and their personality, also being another quote which means the same "Dont judge people on the outside, cause it is the inside that counts."This play was believed to be written in between 1591 and 1595, or as on another website it said 1914.
