Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I don't want many small things this year because I don't really play with a lot of toys anymore now that I am a teenager. When you come please eat the cookies, give your reindeer the carrot and drink your milk, or otherwise you will not have enough energy to go around the whole world in one night! If you could please make all of my wishes come true I would love you even more! But I wouldn't mind if you missed one or two things, because I know you are very busy, and your little elves don't have enough hands to make everyone in the world or buy everyone in the world ten things each!
But here is my wish list...

•An IPhone 5s or an IPhone 5c
•A hair straightener so I can straighten my hair whenever I want without asking my mum first!
•A spring free trampoline with a net around it so I can learn some new tricks with out falling off a small tramp with no net!
•Money so I can buy my own things like clothes or something, because I am very fussy!
•IPod Touch 5 (If you can not get me the IPhone)
•Chocolate and Lollies in my Santa Stocking

Thank You so much Santa
Love From Sasha <33

"A rose by any other name " was a line in William Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet". The play was a romantic play as Juliet said the same line to Romeo in act ll scene 2.The full quote is "In a name a rose by any other name would be ask sweet as"

The meaning being what matters is what some thing is not what something is called, by that I think Shakespeare means is dont judge people on the outside, judge people on who they are and their personality, also being another quote which means the same "Dont judge people on the outside, cause it is the inside that counts."This play was believed to be written in between 1591 and 1595, or as on another website it said 1914.

The Port Of Tauranga

The Port Of Tauranga

Having 186 staff members at the Port Of Tauranga, there is a lot to do, starting with Logging. The Port Of Tauranga gets pine trees shipped by Cargo ships, transported by trains, or driven to them by truck so that they can store them then transport them to Asia and Tasmania. The Pine trees mostly come from a place in the South Island called Hineua Forest or from Gisborne or very rarely Asia.

When you cut one pine tree down from a forest, the rule is that you have to plant three more trees to replace that one. You also have to make sure that the tree has been growing for at least 20 years in that forest. Once the trees get transported to where ever they are going to, they then get made into houses, furniture, buildings, fences, or building materials (they are the main ones.).

A place in Tauranga called C3 is the site that looks after the logs. Every year C3 takes in or transports 23 Million pine trees a year, also C3 goes through sixty three thousand Pine trees in one day. The staff at C3 work for forty five hours a week.

Once the logs get to C3, they are stacked in a fenced area into triangle or shapes so they do not fall down, or fall on someone. Tauranga gets a profit of five point six million dollars every year from C3 and the Port together.

45 Minute Inquiry

Curling

Curling is a game that is played in an ice arena divided into 4 sections. It is played in the  Olympics since 1998 as well. Also in 2006 the sport Curling was introduced into the Para Olympics where athletes play in Wheel Chairs instead of standing up or crouching down.
The sport Curling was invented in the Medieval times in Scotland.

This game (Curling) is played with a different type of stone called the Granite Stone which weighs 19 kilograms. You sweep that along the ice using  a stick which is named the Sweeper or the Broom. The aim of the game is to sweep the Granite stone across the iced floor, targeting a circle located at the end of the ice strip called "The House."

The game is played with two teams of four people. You start off with eight Granite stones per team. Points are scored by judging the closest Granite Stone to "The House" at the end of the game.
